About Debi Wind
Hello. My name is Debi Wind and I am a rubber stamper, Calligrapher, mixed media & altered art artist and collage artist living in Louisville, KY with my Maltese, Peanut.
Over the years I have developed experience in a wide variety of arts. My earliest experience was using my eye for color in sewing. As I grew older I began learning cross stitch and created unique cross stitch framed pictures. I developed an interest in paper arts and learned to scrapbook. Scrapbooking led to journaling about pictures on the pages, designing pages with pattern paper, stickers, and markers. One day I bought a rubber stamp and my artistic story change.
Becoming a self-taught rubber stamper artist in mixed media, altered art, and collage, it created a passion in me for combing colors, unique images, vintage photographs and ephemera. I design cards and Artist Trading Cards, create collages that can be turned into framed art, make hand made books, create jewelry with found objects, altered art, and mixed media art. I have done this for stamp companies, stamping related product companies, and have done commissioned work and consignment work. Several stamping publications have featured my work. I spent 3½ years writing and designing for SSReflections Ezine and 3 years for Stamper Mall Ezine.
Fascinated by the beauty of the letters and words, I became intrigued with calligraphy and the idea that it uses a piece of paper, ink, and a pen for a unique design. I was privately tutored by Connie Newbanks who is a professional calligrapher for over 30 years. I have combined it with a variety of media and use it in my creations. I am a member of the Kentucky Calligraphy Guild. Additionally I belong to the Louisville Visual Arts Association, Louisville Artisan Guild, and The Artist Registry, A Division of ECVA, Inc.
All of my work is one of a kind or a small run series. Please contact me if you are interested in learning about any of the artwork on this site or having artwork of your own theme created for you.
